Short Vowel Rhyming Words

Build phonological awareness and strengthen the connection between spoken words and written language with this hands-on collection of miniature objects representing short-vowel rhyming words.

Children work with concrete objects to identify words that rhyme, listen for shared ending sounds, and then connect the objects to their corresponding written labels.

Each set contains 10 complete rhyming sets, with two rhyming words for each short vowel sound. A Digital word file with 30 labels are included so you can print the labels you need for your classroom.

Digital Word Labels

Digital labels for all words are included with your purchase and will be emailed directly to you upon purchase. Print the labels you need and pair them with the corresponding objects for a complete object-to-word matching activity.

How It Works

Present the objects to the child and invite them to find the objects that rhyme. Once the rhyming pairs have been identified, introduce the written labels and match each label to its object.  Try playing "I have....who has....." for more interaction and FUN!
