Summer 2016

Welcome to the new website

Welcome to our new website! We are so excited to join the 21st century.  Building this website has been a labor of love and frustration.  We tried a variety of different platforms, but I think we have finally found something that works for us and here we are!  A big thank you to Dick Rubin and Bill Brown as they patiently made changes for me and updates last summer (yes, 2015!!) when we first began this venture.  Of course, I STILL didn't like it!  So, what did I do?  Spend this summer (2016) rebuilding it, on my own.  It's a work in progress, and I feel like I have a few more things to do, but I am pleased to get it moving along.  Keep checking back!  Please don't hesitate to offer any suggestions for improvement.

Online Conference

In addition to working on the website, this summer I was able to participate in my first and I think the very first online Montessori conference sponsored by Trillium Montessori.   I have to say, my favorite part was the back scenes of the conference, preparing, chatting and listing to other vendors!  There is an amazing group of people out there sharing their hard work on Etsy and Teachers Pay Teachers, and some on their own website.  Wow!  Oh, yes, I also got a chance to participate in a few workshops and am looking forward to catching some of the sessions that I missed.

 New ES&I Video

When I registered for the online conference, we had a choice of "levels" of participation. I chose the highest/most expensive level, because I was NOT going to miss ANYTHING.  I got some added advertising & promotion and a free link to a 10 minute video.  Video, I thought?  What do they mean?  And for 10 minutes?  Who wants to watch a 10 minute promotional video.  Well, I paid my fee and forgot about it for a few days figuring I'd just  get in on the extra advertising.  But, I couldn't leave it alone.  Especially when I have an amazing brother-in-law and niece who are fantastic videographers!   It took about 2-3 weeks of planning, designing, setting up a mock classroom, interviewing, filming and editing!  Check out the results of our work here!  My favorite is the introduction and of course the tribute to Dottie in the last episode!  Viewers also get a peek into my favorite room of our house, the project room.

Thank You

I want to extend a big thank you to all of the loyal ES&I customers.  You have all made the transition of this change of ownership seamless and completely enjoyable!  You've made me feel so welcome and grateful for this opportunity.  I'm excited to continue to continue to bring you the beautiful quality products that Dottie designed, and Marie created.  And soon, I plan to be rolling out some of my own designs and creations!  (have you seen my beaded timeline or the infinity street)

Until next time,
